Upcoming Band Schedule

Fellow boosters:

The Marching Band has a busy schedule in the next few weeks. It begins on Tuesday, Sept. 22, with our benefit concert at the D-Note. The concert begins at 7, and we ask that you attend as well as bring lots of friends! The D-Note is located at 7519 Grandview Ave. in Olde Town Arvada.

Next, we have our first football game, on Thursday, Sept. 24, against Dakota Ridge. The football team is fun to watch, but the Marching Band is even better! Please come out to support both our great football team and our Marching Band. The game begins at 7 and will take place at the North Area Athletic Complex, 19400 West 64th Avenue Parkway in Arvada. It's basically on the corner of Colorado Highway 93 and 64th Avenue.

Next weekend — Friday, Sept. 25 and Saturday, Sept. 26 — is also the 17th Annual Retreat Weekend for the Marching Band. This is our final big push before our first competition the following Tuesday. It is important for the students to be at all rehearsals Friday and Saturday. Part of this weekend is the sleepover at the school and the parent performance at 2 p.m. on Saturday. Please make sure that when your student comes to school or rehearsal on Friday that you send them with a sleeping bag, pillow, and any other items necessary for a sleepover. High school students will be allowed to store their belongings during the school day. These rooms will be locked during the school day, but as with any activity, please do not send anything of great value with your student.

The parent performance is a fun opportunity to watch your students up close as well as get a small taste of how hard they work. Following the performance, we will have an ice cream social provided by the boosters that we hope you will all attend before taking your students home.

Last, but not least, the Jeffco Marching Festival will take place Tuesday, Sept. 29, at Jeffco Stadium on Kipling, just south of Sixth Avenue. This is our first major competition, and we hope you will attend. The atmosphere at a band competition is very different from a football game, and it is always fun to see other bands

Check your e-mail for information about all the upcoming events. As always, there are plenty of opportunities for parents to help out, whether it's serving as a chaperone, riding the bus or helping out on the Pit Crew. Just respond to this e-mail.....

Thank you for your continued support, and we look forward to seeing you at all the upcoming events!
